How to Apply and Remove Contact Lenses

Applying Contact Lenses

Wash and dry your hands thoroughly with soap and a lint-free towel.
The lens should be held on your fingertip - check that it is not inside out. The edges should curve upwards like a bowl.
Hold your eyelids open to avoid blinking.
Look straight or slightly above and gently place the lens on your eye.
Blink a few times till the lens comfortably positions itself.

Removing Contact Lenses

Wash and dry your hands before touching your eyes.
Look upwards and pull down the lower eyelid gently.
Slide the lens downward onto the white part of the eye.
Pinch the lens gently (use your thumb and index finger) to get rid of it.
Make sure that you clean or throw away the lens according to the instructions from your optometrist.
