Masunaga glasses embody elite-level Japanese craftsmanship, with no corners cut. This no-compromise philosophy is precisely why Masunaga Optical is regarded as highly as a luxury eyewear brand. Its reputation builds on over 120 years of creating exclusive frame designs and perfecting production processes, still carried out in-house in Japan. These days, that legacy continues, enriched by collaborations with world-renowned fashion designers including Kenzo Takada.

Masunaga Glasses (Since 1905) – Made in Fukui, Japan

Masunaga eyewear has beencrafted in Japan since 1905. The company's founder, Gozaemon Masunaga, set the standard for high-quality, hand-finished eyewear and transformed Fukui Prefecture into Japan's major eyewear hub. The brand is known for itsall-in-house approach, which is unusual in today's world where mass production and outsourcing dominate. Raw materials, creating molds, finishing, and everything in between – every step of manufacturing Masunaga eyeglasses is controlled in-house to ensure precision and quality. Masunaga is the sole eyewear maker in Japan to integrate all processes in a single factory.
