Cazal eyewear brand has been setting trends and turning heads since its foundation in 1975. With their bold, daring designs and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Cazal gives a unique look to anyone who isn’t afraid of being different. Cari Zalloni, the founder of the brand, was a visionary who revolutionized eyewear designs and created trends that were way ahead of their time, were second to none. The talented designer crafted a phenomenal style that polarized opinions and gathered a cohort of loyal fans all over the world. The list of celebrities wearing Cazal luxury glasses includes Al Pacino, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, Usher, Kanye West, Will Smith, Brad Pitt, and others.

The renewed German brand defined the archetypal hip-hop look of the 80s like no other brand. Some of the legendary eyewear designs from that era are still trendsetting. Lovingly nicknamed ''Cazzy'' by its fans, Cazal has become a symbol of freedom and self-expression. The creative genius of the talented designer Cari Zalloni carries on, even after his sudden death in 2012. Inspired by his rebellious spirit, the Cazal design team continues to create outstanding eyewear collections that set standards and immortalize the founder’s spirit. About

When passion for a product and dedication to quality is reflected in the design, there is no-one like Cazal, whose eyepieces are often striking and always unique! The brand has never followed the mainstream; instead, it creates original eyewear models with a high recognition value. Whether for women or men, the Cazal frames are stylishly composed and beguile with their own character. The glasses perfectly fit people for whom individuality and extravagance are part of their life. To guarantee the highest quality, each frame goes through numerous quality checks: every of the up to 50 components of a pair of Cazal glasses is subject to very close scrutiny. Each precious designer frame demonstrates the loving attention to detail with which Cari Zalloni worked and his international design team still works today.

Cazal defines style not just in design: the use of premium-grade materials like pure titanium or gold results in durable and comfortable frames that last a lifetime. The Cazal Deluxe Collection represents luxury as the expression of an attitude to life: with premium gold-plating up to 24-carat, each of the Cazal Deluxe Edition models is a genuine masterpiece. The Cazal Limited Edition includes the exclusive collectors’ eyepieces inspired by the strong angular haircuts, wide temples, and bold logos that defined the early 80’s. The frames within the range are handcrafted from a responsibly sourced buffalo horn that has remarkable inherent properties and is characterized by gorgeous natural coloring.

      History

Cazal was founded in 1975 by Cari Zalloni and his business partner Günter Böttcher. Zalloni wanted to make sunglasses with mismatched lenses, a design detail that recently became popular at Virgil Abloh’s Spring/Summer 2021 show for Louis Vuitton. Cari was born in Athens, Greece in 1937 to a father of Greek-Italian descent and an Austrian mother, and moved to Austria after his father’s death in 1947. Living in Vienna, the city that was influenced by all types of design styles, the young Cari started to learn his design trade. In 1960, after graduating from the Vienna Academy of Applied Arts, he moved to Germany and began to work within the eyewear industry. The designer worked for Carrera Optyl at a time when they were the most dominant force in the eyewear world.

As soon as Cazal was founded in 1975, it has quickly gained a burgeoning reputation in Europe as the brand of choice for the street-style lovers and hip-hoppers. Once Darryl McDaniels of Run D.M.C was seen rocking a pair of 607s by Cazal, their fans began to buy these bold shades all over America. The “607”, also lovingly known as “Cazzy”, has become one of the best-selling Cazal collection classics. It was during this period that many of the legendary Cazals were born: these were cons like the 858, worn by MC Hammer, and the 616 worn by Spike Lee. Cari Zalloni’s unmistakable style still defines the Cazal’s collections today. Timeless coolness coupled with inimitable details: design a world away from the mainstream that brings out the wearer’s unique personality.

      LATEST EYEWEAR COLLECTIONS

Trends come and go, but style never goes out of fashion. Unique and unmistakable Cazal sunglasses and optical frames are born to become legends. Their trailblazing look is defined by the hip-hop style of the 80s and to this day stands for a self-assured character set apart from the Zeitgeist. Most of the optical styles by Cazal are crafted from high-grade titanium to provide a touch of luxury and elegant lightness. The intricate details of each pair set them apart — the Cazal’s signature “color carving” technique produces an end result that simply can't be replicated by any other brand. From sleek aviator shapes to classic cat-eye silhouettes, these eye-catching designs are sure to turn heads while ensuring quality performance over time.

The Being Greek Collection by Cazal has a special place in the brand’s portfolio. Created in collaboration with PEARL OCTOPUS S.Y, the renowned jewelry brand, this limited-edition collection is a nod to the greatest poets and philosophers of Greece as well as to Cari Zalloni’s Greek roots. The frames within the range fit into the series of “iconic pieces” from Cazal and so is more than just fashion. The collection is composed of acetate and rimless styles. The styling and metal decor of the frames are inspired by the classic Cazal 607. The colors range from classic, timeless colors such as black and havana to the very unique trendy hues. Customized with genuine freshwater pearls or Swarovski stones, these glasses are real pieces-of-art.
