      MARKUS T is a world-famous German eyewear brand that has quickly become known for its unique, avant-garde designs. Founded by Markus Temming, who had the vision of optimized eyewear and wished glasses to be lighter, simpler, and more intelligent, the brand works with precision - at every level. The MARKUS T frames are often asymmetric in design, featuring unexpected details such as artistic cutouts, bold lines, and intricate curves that make them highly distinctive.

      MARKUS T also places an emphasis on the use of unique and highly functional materials: TMi and titanium. Exclusively developed and patented for the brand, the TMi is a synthetic plastic material that unites two different properties: it is strong enough to retain its shape while being extremely light at the same time. Also, the material is resistant to sunlight, it’s recyclable and has anti-allergenic properties just like titanium. The manufacturer utilizes the highest-quality alloy that is also used in the medical industry. It allows the creation of ultra-flat and narrow frames, which are super durable and almost unbreakable due to their unique spring properties and high flexibility.

      Known as the "Masters of Titanium," MARKUS T continuously pushes the status quo in the field with cutting-edge technologies developed at its own headquarters in Isselhorst near Gütersloh, Germany. The brand owes more than 50 design awards to this constant pursuit of eyewear modernization and progress. For example, the MARKUS T DESIGN/D3 collection, first launched in 2015, got the prestigious Red Dot Award in the product design category, the IF gold award and the renowned German Design Award all in the very same year. In 2020, the jury awarded a Red Dot to MARKUS T for its unique, rimless collection EASE. The new DESIGN collection received a Red Dot Award in 2026. Made from a very slim titanium, combined with a highly precise glazing technology and a delicate, screwless hinge system, the frames are absolute lightweights, starting at only 3.6 grams.

      The MARKUS T glazing technology is as unique as the brand’s materials or hinges: the glasses are glazed without much tension over the center, which gives the lenses inside the frame greater durability and flexibility. In the ME-collection, the lenses are sealed over the nose bridge. For the titanium glasses, the manufacturer dispenses with screws, which allow little tolerance, and uses Nylon fibers instead. When it comes to color, MARKUS T is sure that it’s a crucial element, since it underlines the individuality of the wearer and emphasizes the design of the frame. To create glasses with a natural, matte appearance, the brand utilizes the patented Multiple-Step-Coloring (MSC) dye process.

      HISTORY

      Established in 1999 in Gütersloh, the MARKUS T brand was created by Markus Temming, an optician who developed a passion for design and technology at an early age.
