Personal Experience

Monica is a native New-Yorker and has been practicing opticianry and frame styling for over 30 years. What began as a part-time job while attending Barnard College, Monica found her career. Over the course of her career, she has worked in a variety of optical settings. Having worked in tandem with optometrists, she is very adept at interpreting doctors’ prescriptions and has vast experience with contact lenses.

Always seeking to give her patients the very best optical solutions, Monica has acquired comprehensive knowledge of lenses and lens treatments. She knows what is available, and what will best suit her patients’ needs. She will competently explain (in a way a lay person can easily understand) progressive lens designs, occupational lenses, sport specific lenses, the benefits of photo-sensitive lenses and the effects of tinting lenses. If she doesn’t know the answer to your question, or a solution to your optical problem, she will research until she finds it.

Monica’s true passion, and magic power, is finding the perfect frame for every face. She will quickly select an assortment of frames for you, and you will have a hard time choosing as you will likely love them all! And she is resourceful. Having been in the industry for many years, and built strong relationships, she is able to find the unfindable. Do you have a photo of an old frame you love and lost? Monica will help you replace it.

When not helping patients look and feel beautiful in their eyewear, you can find Monica binge-watching British murder mysteries, reading and taking her beloved dog to the park.
