Kind to the Earth and Pleasing to the Eye – The #AcetateRenew Glasses by ANDY WOLF

Combining time-honored traditional eyewear craftsmanship with a modern, innovative design, ANDY WOLF creates nothing less than the best sunglasses and optical frames, worn and loved all over the world. Since the inception, social responsibility and sustainability have been at the heart of the company’s philosophy. This is evident in ANDY WOLF glasses, which are crafted from acetate based on certified natural materials or partly recycled metal.

To create not only stylish but sustainable eyewear pieces, the Austrian brand has received the ISCC Plus certification and qualified for the Acetate Renew program from the Italian acetate producer Mazzucchelli and Eastman. Thus, ANDY WOLF has become the first independent eyewear brand from the German-speaking region to convert its acetate collection to the new most sustainable acetate in the industry. The manufacturer is going to utilize the innovative recycled #AcetateRenew material, made of used plastic carpets, cosmetic packaging, sportswear with a high plastic content or old acetate.

The #AcetateRenew eyewear offers the same durability and performance as regular acetate glasses. They are skin- and environment-friendly, biodegradable and recyclable. In comparison to the traditional acetate manufacturing process, there is a noticeable reduction in greenhouse gases and tons of waste do not end up in landfills, but are returned to the product cycle. According to the ANDY WOLF’s plan, by the end of 2022, more than 23% of the entire acetate range will be made of sustainable plastic. And till 2025 –  over 75% of all frames will be constructed from the new material.

ANDY WOLF has always taken responsibility for people and nature – with local production in Austria, Hartberg and in the French Jura. Today, it is one of the most eco-friendly eyewear brands in the industry, creating glasses that are more ethical and all-around better for the environment.
